Band Front
Pom-poms, flags, and batons make up our band front. We participate in local parades to show our Penguin Pride! Faculty advisor is Mr. Mike Robins.
Band - Beginning & Advanced
Under the direction of Mr. Mike Robins, band opportunities begin in grade 4. The band has concerts at school and participates in a number of local parades.
Book Club
Welcome to students who love to read! Book Clubs meet once a month with Mrs. Lizanne Wallace. There are three levels: 2nd & 3rd, 4th & 5th, and 6th - 8th.
Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
Local parish-based Boy and Girl Scout troops hold meetings on the St. Francis de Sales campus.
Choir
Our school choir is under the direction of Mrs. Karen Mullins and is open to interested students in grades 5-8. The choir performs regularly at 10:30 Mass and at other events throughout the school year.
Destination Imagination
Our new team has begun meeting! What will be this year's challenges to solve? Faculty Advisor is Mr. Hilton Bosies.
Drama- 8th Grade Musical
Each Spring our 8th graders culminate their Drama study with a full length musical play that is presented on three nights. The productions are always a highlight of the school year! Mrs. Karen Mullins is the Faculty Advisor.
The Emperor (SFDSCS school newpaper)
Open to students in grades 5-8, the school newspaper is under the direction of Mrs. Lizanne Wallace and Mrs. Phyllis Phillips. "It's all here in black and white.'
Lego Club
For 3rd and 4th graders, check out our FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League! Students will use LEGO® WeDo™ Robotics kits to build Simple Machines. Under the direction of Parent Advisor Mrs. Karen Mull and Faculty Advisor Miss Gen Lowe.
National Geographic Geography Bee
National Junior Honor Society
St. Francis strives to give each student the opportunity to excel. Membership in the National Junior Honor Society is a means of recognizing and rewarding that excellence. Once inducted, students are required to participate in service projects with the chapter and also on an individual basis. Mrs. Lizanne Wallace is the Faculty Advisor.
Penguin Paddle Club (Ping-Pong)
Lessons, clinics, and tournaments for grades 6-8! Come join the fun! Under the direction of Mrs. Suzanne Nascimbeni.
Science Fair
For the scientists in our upper grades... learning AND creating a project! The projects are displayed for students and parents to appreciate. Mr. Hilton Bosies is the Faculty Advisor.
Scrabble Club
Open to grades 4-8, members learn strategies to improve their skills. They also participate in a singles and doubles tournament, where they earn rosette ribbons for their efforts. The club is sponsored by Mr. Mike Robins.
Spelling Bee
Organized by Mrs. Debbie Traum, we participate in local and diocesan spelling bees. Good spellers - come join us!
Student Council
The Student Council provides leadership in promoting the goals of SFDSCS. It is responsible for organizing spiritual, educational and social activities. Student Council is a main channel of communication between students and administration. Mrs. Phyllis Phillips is the Facilty Advisor.
Yearbook
Miss Elle Phillips heads up our first school-wide yearbook. Students in grades 6-8 will be contributing editors. Penguin Pride lives here!
